About Instructor

Afzal Khan is an accomplished MEP professional with over 8 years of experience in designing, coordinating, and delivering Plumbing, HVAC, and Firefighting systems for some of the most prestigious and large-scale development projects across the Middle East, the UAE, and New Zealand. His experience spans multi-billion-dollar projects, each demonstrating a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence.

Afzal has worked with some renowned engineering and design firms, including Mott MacDonald and AECOM. His expertise spans the implementation of BIM standards, workflows, and best practices across multidisciplinary projects. He specializes in coordinating models from various disciplines to ensure seamless integration, performing clash detection using tools like Navisworks, and resolving conflicts efficiently. He has a strong command of enforcing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), managing file exchanges, and maintaining version control and naming conventions to ensure data integrity.

Afzal is also experienced in generating model health and clash detection reports, providing technical support and training to project teams, and ensuring continuous compliance with project standards. In addition to his BIM coordination responsibilities, he is well-versed in reviewing tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications to ensure accurate estimations aligned with client requirements.
